Speeding is one of the biggest causes of serious collisions.

Follow these tips to make sure you are safe, as well as keeping the rest of the road safe:

Anticipate hazards. Look out for hidden dips, bends and concealed entrances. Brake before bends, not while turning.

Know the limits. Make sure you know the limits of the roads you'll be driving on.

Always check speed limit signs on the road itself, not just navigation apps. Signs reflect the most up‑to‑date legal limits, while apps can lag behind or miss temporary changes.

In icy weather, de-ice all windows, mirrors and lights before setting off. Anything on your windscreen and mirrors will block visibility and increases the likelihood of a crash.

Driving at the right speed in the right conditions isn’t just good practice, it saves lives. Driving a little slower today, means you get home tomorrow.
